Alison Hooper
Alison is an Associate Professor of Early Childhood Education in the College of Education. She teaches courses in early childhood curriculum and instruction. Her research focuses on measuring and improving the quality of early childhood educational settings and increasing access to high-quality early education. Much of her work focuses on home-based child care.
Alison completed her Ph.D. in Human Development and Family Studies at the University of Delaware, where she also worked as a Limited Term Researcher with the Delaware Institute for Excellence in Early Childhood. Before attending graduate school, she worked as a kindergarten teacher in Wilmington, Delaware, and a child care teacher in Pennsylvania. Alison is currently accepting doctoral students in the Curriculum & Instruction program with specific interests in these areas:
